DVD Sampler of Dennis’ touring shows now available.

The performances were taped before a live studio audience on April 12 at the Walmer Centre Theatre in Toronto.
The DVD contains excerpts from five touring shows, and interviews with Dennis.
Jan. 2009 - premiere of stage version of THE GLORY MAN, in the U.S. Details tbc.
April/May 2008 - visiting theatre producers in U.S. with Toronto producer Marvin Ishmael.
April 18-19, 2008 - onstage ensemble reading of A MIGHTY CLOUD OF WITNESSES, with the massed choirs of First Baptist Church, in Toronto. The play explores the life of a black church from the days of the Underground Railroad through encounters with the Ku Klux Klan to urban youth issues today. March 08 - DRAMATIC CHANGE YOUTH THEATRE, Hassell's latest and biggest project, begins early development phase. Mission: "To engage and equip young people for youth-to-youth transcultural ministry through plays that are parables."
Feb. 08 - Dennis Hassell named a Finalist in Kairos Prize Screenwriting Competition for his first screenplay, GLORY MAN. $50,000 in prizes to be awarded to Top Three.
Nov. 07 - commissioned by Project Serve USA for a bilingual play (English/Spanish), EVERYOUTH.
Oct. 07 - ONLINE RANGERS begins touring.
Aug. 07 - Comic novelisation of SAINT HILARIA'S begins.
January 31, 2007: Latest draft of THE GLORY MAN gets a reading at Pacific Theatre in Vancouver, Canada.
Previous drafts were read in Atlanta (www.ArtWithin.org) and Toronto (Newface Productions).
Nov. 25th, 2006: Premiere of A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS in Toronto, touring begins.
Nov. 8, 2006: THE POWER OF ONE, Hassell’s play about bullying, begins touring schools in Canada.
Sept. 6, 2006: R&D begins begins on the teleplay, THE BIG SMOKE.
Aug. 15, 2006 Hassell begins the screenplay adaptation of THE GLORY MAN.
The Glory Place Reading March 24.
Hundreds of people attending a reading with 15 actors and director Kent Staines, and participated in a feedback forum afterwards.

The Glory Place is based on a true story of race, terror, and faith.
It about a tiny community of Christians who stood up to their society and to the Ku Klux Klan,
and who ultimately became the origin
of Habitat For Humanity.
An earlier draft was showcased at Art Within’s International Scriptwriters Symposium last October.
The Toronto reading is in association with Newface Productions, Imago, and Green Ink.
